Terms of service

These terms are between you (the business that orders a Desk) and webfaCeMEdia, 57 Finch Ave West, Toronto, ON M2N 0K9 ("we"). By ordering or using webfaCe Desk you agree to them.

What you get

A Desk is an always-on business assistant running on a server of its own, in Toronto, that you reach from your computer and phone. It reads what you connect (email, calendar, website, files you upload), drafts replies, quotes, bookings and documents, keeps routines, and uses a browser on your behalf. Before anything leaves the business — an email, a booking, a payment, a published page — it asks you, unless you have turned that approval off yourself.

Your account

• You are responsible for everyone you give a sign-in to and for keeping passwords private.
• Every connection (Google, WordPress, webfaCeMEdia and any tool you add) is your own account, under that provider's terms. You may disconnect any of them at any time.
• You decide what your Desk sends. Drafts it prepares are yours once you approve them; check them as you would work from a new employee.

Fees

• Prices are in Canadian dollars and shown before checkout: a one-time setup fee and a monthly subscription, billed by Stripe. Taxes are added where they apply.
• The setup fee is not refundable once your Desk has been built (usually within minutes of payment). The subscription can be cancelled at any time from Billing in your Desk's sidebar or by writing to us; it ends at the close of the paid month.
• Model usage under a "webfaCe model key" is metered and billed monthly at the rate on the pricing page. If you use your own model key, that provider bills you directly.

When a subscription ends

Your Desk is stopped and a final snapshot is taken. It is kept for 30 days so you can come back or ask for an export, and deleted within 90 days. If a payment fails, your Desk drops to read-only for 14 days before it is stopped.

Acceptable use

Do not use a Desk to send unsolicited bulk messages, to break the law or another service's terms, to collect personal data you have no right to, or to harm anyone. We may pause a Desk that does, after telling you why.

Our promises and their limits

• We keep your Desk running, backed up nightly, and patched. We aim for it to be reachable all the time and will tell you about planned maintenance.
• An assistant can misread, miscount or misjudge. It drafts; you decide. We are not liable for the content of anything you approve and send, or for decisions you make on its summaries.
• To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top changes and material changes are emailed to you a month ahead. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada, with disputes heard in Toronto.
